The phurbu is a ritual dagger. It represents wisdom, the destruction of ignorance of attachment and aversion, and mastery of the three times and the three worlds. This blade is traversed by snakes and emerges from the mouth of a makara. The phurbu being made of wood its precise dating is impossible, but the usures allow us to situate it between the XVth and the XVIIth century.
